THE CALGARY ZOO

A ordinary day at the Calgary Zoo!
So much fun. It was a rainy but very nice day.
Jenn brought her friend Dazy. Astrid (to say the least) looooved the animals. She was almost mesmerized!
Jenn and Dazy had a blast toghether. Paul, Ashley & Caroline came too, they are always so fun to go out with. Al together an unforgettable day!!

Jenn was very lucky last year to have a great caring teacher in her class!!

On a ordinary Saturday night, we got a text from Athena, that she had contractions. We thought she would still have plenty of time. So we went to bed and got a call from Ryan at 2am, that they were almost at the hospital.
So I went to the hospital to pick up Liam and there was Kevin already. He said I am going to pull an all nighter, because I am going to stay here with Athena and Ryan. So I went home with Liam, went to bed and at 8am Ryan called that Athena was ready to give birth, but was not sure if she needed a c-section.
The doctor was going to try to see if she could do a "normal" birth first. We all were hoping and praying that it would be an normal birth.
At 9 30am Kevin texted that Emery was born. He said Athena was such a trooper!! (When Athena started to push Kev left the room..... ; ) )
When Liam and I arrived at the hospital, Paul, Ashley & Caroline where already there. Athena looked amazing, she said she felt great and it was a wonderful experience! We chatted for a while and then the nurse came to give Emery his first bath. What a blessed Oma and Opa are we!!!!!

Today Jenn and I went on a school field trip to the mines and the Frank slides. What a great day. We learned so much, and we had so much fun! The weather was perfect. Jenn has a great class!!!

What a great ordinary Sunday afternoon we had.
After church, we just had dinner outside with the kids.
I feel so intense happy when I see all my children happy. Today we had a full house, happy and noisy, what else do we want or need......... .
I had to pinch myself a couple of times today, .......... is this all real, did I really deserve all this???????

I just love all my kids so much!!
We are so enormously blessed.
It is such a great feeling to have them all here, and we enjoy it while it lasts.
Kevin has a little lawn business for the summer, and Paul helps him out once in a while. Here they are doing our yard, front and back. Astrid likes to keep an eye on them, and loves the fact that she can go outside by herself.
Athena has 2 more weeks to go!!!
We are so excited, and can't wait to see this little guy. We took those same pics when she was pregnant with Liam too. I am so happy that she will deliver here in town, close by. I wonder how Liam will react, when his little brother comes home. We are so blessed to have Athena and her family in our lives, she is such a great mother and daughter!!!
